We know that visiting the dentist can feel a little nerve-wracking for some children, which is why we have two special team members here to help! Loki and Maui, our gentle therapy dogs, are experts at making office visits more fun.
To help our patients feel calm and secure, the dogs can rest right with the children during their appointment. They provide the soothing comfort of a weighted blanket, but with wagging tails and soft cuddles.
Whether it’s a supportive paw or a quiet presence nearby, Loki and Maui are here to make sure your child’s visit is full of smiles.
As part of our goal to make every visit fun and fearless, your child is always welcome to pet, play, and bond with our gentle therapy dogs. We believe that a little extra puppy love goes a long way in building a lifetime of happy, healthy smiles!
In addition to taking care of your child’s dental health, we will make sure that you as a parent are satisfied with your child’s treatment. If you have any questions, we are more than happy to answer them.
Before we begin any treatment, we will explain to you what we propose to do and why we are proposing it. We encourage parents to be involved in their child’s oral health care, and we encourage parents to accompany their children throughout the visit.

Storybook Smiles is a general dental office for children located in San Jose, California. Whether your child is excited about visiting the dentist or anxious about it, we will make sure that they get good dental care and have a good time. We believe that it is important for your child to feel good about going to the dentist when they are young, so they will keep on going to the dentist as they grow older. That will help assure them a lifetime of good dental health.
We focus on preventative care and minimally invasive dentistry. If a dental procedure is optional, we will tend not to do it. For example, we believe that there is no need to make your child sit through a filling if that tooth is going to fall out in the next 6 months! We also have several options available to address dental decay for children who are too nervous or who are unable to sit still for conventional fillings.
