Dr. Julia graduated in 2017 from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. She has always loved working with children, and she has dedicated her dental practice exclusively to children’s dentistry. Opening up her own practice has long been a dream of hers, and she is excited to see her dream become reality. When she is not practicing dentistry, she likes to spend her time doing crafts and hanging out with her husband and two golden retrievers.

Dr. Rita Chandki DDS, PhD. is known amongst her patients as a compassionate provider who delivers state-of-the-art dental care that is tailored to each patient’s individual needs. She takes pride in staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and innovations in the dental field for ensuring optimum care for her patients. Dr. Chandki graduated from University of Colorado in 2021 where she earned DDS and was awarded the prestigious OKU Award in recognition of scholarship, character,and professional promise. Her past educational background includes specialization in Endodontics and a Ph.D. from India. She has joined Storybook Smiles Children’s Dentistry, where she practices all aspects of pediatric dentistry. She also offers Pulp therapies and painless root canal treatment procedures for young permanent teeth. She is also Invisalign certified and has created beautiful smiles for many young adults. A mother of a toddler boy, Dr. Chandki loves to work with kids and ensure that they develop healthy oral habits and remain cavity free. The patients at our office enjoy her stories and singing during the treatments. Dr. Chandki is happy to be a part of team and will continue to deliver her services here for the welfare of the pediatric community of the bay area.
Born and raised in San Jose, Dr. Michelle is enthused to return to her hometown to practice dentistry and help care for the next generation. Dr. Michelle attended UC Davis for her undergraduate studies and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, FL. She then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Tucson, AZ, where she advanced her skills in all scopes of dentistry, including pediatric and special needs dentistry. Dr. Michelle previously practiced in Southern California and Arizona prior to her return to the Bay Area. Dr. Michelle admits to being a huge Disney Parks enthusiast, as well as an avid basketball fan. She is a wife to her high school sweetheart (both are EVHS alumni) and a mother to two children (and three cats). In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, running, and watching a wide variety of movies and TV shows.
Loki is the therapy dog at Storybook Smiles. He can make your child feel more comfortable, and is available upon request most days. Loki is a certified Canine Good Citizen.
Brenda works at the front desk, so when you call you’ll probably speak with her! She is currently on maternity leave.
Margarita is a dental assistant and has been with Storybook Smiles for a little over a year. She loves Spending time with her family, her husband, their five children, three dogs, and cat. She also loves pushing herself at the gym, dancing, and hiking to find amazing views.
Cynthia is a proud wife and mom of two amazing kids a boy and a girl who keep life full of energy and joy. She’s both a Soccer Mom and a Dance Mom, so much of her free time is spent cheering from the sidelines or helping backstage. Outside of family life, she enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her loved ones. She’s also passionate about healthcare and currently working toward her goal of becoming a dental hygienist. She loves the idea of helping others feel confident about their smiles and making a positive impact on their health.
Jazlyn has been working in the dental field for 3 years now, her favorite part of the day is helping kids be confident with their smiles. When she is not at work you can catch her at the gym or watching a soccer game on the sidelines of her favorite team. Go Earthquakes! She loves spending time with her daughter and their cat Jasper at the park or pool.
Lauren has been working in the dental field for over 13 years and has a genuine passion for helping people—especially children—feel comfortable and confident during their dental visits. Having had some difficult dental experiences growing up, she understands how important it is for every patient to feel heard, respected, and in control of their care. Outside of the dental office, she loves traveling, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. She also runs an event business, so you might catch her at local pop-up events! She has a strong passion for bringing people and communities together while showcasing local talent, artists, and small businesses. Supporting and celebrating the people around her is something she truly values—both professionally and personally. She believes in creating positive experiences both in and out of the dental chair, and she’s proud to be part of a team that truly cares about each patient’s well-being.
Isabella Castillo is a Registered Dental Assistant here at Storybook Smiles Children Dentistry, where she has the joy of working with children and helping create positive, comfortable dental experiences for every patient. With a passion for both patient care and learning, She is also a full time student, continuing to grow her knowledge in the dental field. Outside of work and school, she loves spending quality time with her family and fiancé. Exploring new places and traveling is one of her favorite ways to recharge and make memories. She truly enjoys being part of a team that values compassion and care, and she is grateful to support our patients and their families every day!
Marisela is our front desk receptionist, she will most likely be the one to answer your phone call, and the first person you see when you come to our office. With over 11 years of experience in front office, and customer service, she will provide excellent service, she also speaks Spanish. She is a mother of three wonderful children, two girls and a boy, a grandmother of three as well, two boys and a girl. She has experience with special needs children as two of her own have special needs so she will understand those of you whose children also have special needs. She is a homeschool mom and in her free time, she loves to draw and do arts & crafts, listen to music, spend time with her husband, children and grandbabies, and being a soccer mom. She teaches the importance of praising the Lord & having faith with her family and friends.
Esthefany is our remote receptionist. You won’t see her in the office, but you’ll probably speak with her on the phone! She loves making music and playing a variety of instruments, which keeps her creativity flowing. When she’s not spending time with her two cats and her dog, she enjoys hiking to take in beautiful views or relaxing at the beach on a sunny day.
